*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Come,
people of God, to know again who you are,
return to the One who gives you life.
People: We come as
children of God longing for a closer walk with our Creator.
Leader: We are
called to lay aside previous assumptions, to give up our advantages and
security.
People: It is
frightening to venture into the unknown, to follow a call and a promise.
Leader: But we
have received the promise of steadfast love.
God has blessed us and our hearts are glad.
People: We will
join in exploring God’s purposes and open ourselves to God’s leading on the
journey.

If you have a prayer joy or concern, you are
invited to fill out
a prayer card and hand
it to the usher during the prayer hymn.
PRAYERS OF CONFESSION
(in unison)
God of Abraham and Sarah, we confess that we have not
listened with all our being to your direction as we journey in faith. We have not wanted to accept the cost of
following Jesus. We have not allowed the
Spirit to engage us. We want life on our
own terms. We confess, O God, that we need you especially when we fail to hear or
refuse to act. Forgive us and strengthen
us for right directions and fruitful actions.
Amen.

DEDICATION (in unison)
Our spiritual ancestors offered sacrifice to glorify you, O God;
so would we honor you by these gifts.
May they express the depth of our love for you. As your church, we put them to work on your
behalf in programs of outreach toward those who long for wholeness as well as
for life’s other necessities. Grant your
joy to all who give and all who receive.
Amen.
