CLIP BOARD MINISTRY

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:      Long ago, our ancestors worshiped other gods.

                  God called Abraham and Sarah to travel to a new land, to a new life.  So what shall we do?

People:      As for us, we will worship and serve our God!

Leader:      God gave them many descendants, and they journeyed to Egypt.  So what shall we do?

People:      As for us, we will worship and serve our God!

Leader:      God heard the cries of the people and brought them out of Egypt.  So what shall we do?

People:      As for us, we will worship and serve God!

Leader:      When they entered the promised land, Joshua challenged the people, to leave their old ways behind and to serve God.  So what shall we do?

People:      As for us, we will worship and serve God!

Leader:      When the people answered, Joshua reminded them that this would be a big commitment.  And it is a big commitment to us.  So what shall we do?

People:      As for us, we will worship and serve God!

Leader:      Then let us turn from our old ways to worship and serve God with all of our being.

So far, 55 persons have shared together.

Operation Christmas Child.  The JD’s are still collecting items.  A box for your donations is in the narthex.  Small toys, hygiene items (nothing in a glass container), school supplies, sox, wash cloths, flashlights, batteries, baseball hats, shirts, hair items, picture books are needed.  Please ONLY NEW ITEMS for the boxes and NO liquids.  They plan to pack the boxes next Sunday evening at their meeting.

Song of the Saints

Words and Music by Pepper Choplin

Tell the loved ones we are safe now.

Tell them we have no more pain.

Do not hurry heaven’s journey,

but do not fear it just the same.

All will go through times of grieving,

ev’ry tear must be released;

but live a tribute to our mem’ry,

heal your pain with holy peace.

For our faith was never futile

 as we trusted in the Lord;

ev’ry word now has been proven;

all we knew and even more,

all we knew and even more.

Ev’ry promise Christ has given

through our voyage was proven true.

Christ prepared for us a mansion

and a mansion waits for you.

Do not faint from earthly challenge,

hold your faith and live it strong.

Years on earth are but a moment,

days in heav’n go on and on.

Years on earth are but a moment,

days in heav’n go on and on.
