UNISON PRAYER
God of heaven and earth, by
whose gracious will we have been privileged to know you through Jesus Christ,
reveal yourself once more through ancient word and present action. Lift the heavy burdens we cannot carry alone
and the sin that clings so closely, that we may be freed to worship and serve
you. As we welcome the yoke of Christ,
we seek the gentleness and humility that empower us for the tasks you give
us. May we share with all the rest
Christ offers the weary. Amen.

Come Unto Me
“Come unto me, ye weary, And I will give you rest.”
O blessed voice of Jesus,
Which come to hearts oppressed!
It tells of benediction, Of pardon, grace and peace,
Of
joy that hat no ending, Of love which cannot cease.
“Come, unto me, dear children, And I will give you light.”
O loving voice of Jesus, Which comes to cheer the night!
Our hearts were filled with sadness,
And we had lost our way,
But morning brings us gladness,
And
songs the break of day.
“Come unto me, ye fainting, And I will give you life.”
O cheering voice of Jesus, Which comes to aid our strife!
The foe is stern and eager, The fight is fierce and long;
But thou has made us mighty,
And
stronger than the strong.
“And whosoever cometh, I will not cast them out.”
O welcome voice of Jesus, Which drives away our doubt!
Which calls us, very sinner, unworthy thou we be
Of love so free and boundless,
To come, dear Lord, to thee!

Give Christ Glory
When morning gild the skies,
My heart awaking cries,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and
prayer To Jesus I repair
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The night become as day When from the heart we say,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear
When this sweet chat they hear, May Jesus Christ be praised!
Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of
all nature
O Thou of God and man the
Son,
Thee will I cherish, thee
will I honor,
Thou my soul’s glory, joy
and crown.
Beautiful Savior! Lord of all nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise,
adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.
Jesus! What a friend to sinners! Jesus! Lover of my soul;
Friends, may fail me, foes
assail me, He, my Savior, makes me whole.
Chorus: Hallelujah! What a
Savior! Hallelujah! What a friend!
Saving, helping keeping
loving, He is with me to the end.
Jesus! What a strength in weakness! Let me hide myself in Him; Tempted, tried and
sometimes failing, He ,my strength, my vic-t’ry wins. Chorus
Jesus! What a help in sorrow! While the billows o’er me roll,
Even When my hart is
breaking, He , my Comfort, helps my soul.

Reflections
Matthew 11:28-30
1. What burdens do you need to share with
Jesus?
2.
Jesus said, “take my yoke upon you and learn from me.” What do you need to learn from Jesus?
3.
What would have to change to be disarming in gentleness, as was Jesus?
Jesus
said, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon
you and learn of me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find
rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy
and my burden is light.” Matthew
11:28-30
