*CALL TO WORSHIP
One: It is God who draws us here.
All: A yearning to praise
One: That which is bigger than us.
All: A desire to give thanks
One: For the bountiful gifts of life.
All: It is God who draws us here
One: For comfort in a bruising world,
All: To challenge our half-hearted efforts.
One: It is God who draws us here
All: To sing and pray,
to experience the risen Christ.

PRAYER HYMN #347
“Spirit Song”
If
you have a prayer joy or concern, you are invited to fill out
a prayer card and hand it to the usher during the prayer
hymn.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND WORDS OF ASSURANCE
O God, we confess that we have loved our own way more than
we love you. The Spirit of truth does
not abide in us, for our actions belie the words of praise we utter in worshsip. We neglect
the spiritual disciplines that would draw us close to you and the caring
outreach that would link us with sisters and brothers who need to know of your
love. Our witness of faith is so weak
that it rarely evokes opposition or causes us to suffer. Forgive us, teach us, help
us! Amen

We come with assurance, O God, that
you do not leave us alone. Your presence
continues to guide us as we pursue the paths of discipleship. All that we have is a gift of your
grace. As we offer gifts to you, accept
them as signs of our commitment to Christ.
May all that we do be in praise of your encompassing care and empowering
Spirit. Amen.

During
the school year, approximately thirty generous individuals and families from

from home. Sunday, May 12 we will greet
our returning students and honor our Secret Saints. Please join us at the 11:00 service for this
special celebration. “Commuter” college
