UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of power and right, you have told us to work in your vineyard.  But we are too much like the son who said he would go, and then did not work.  We claim to be faithful and obedient to your will, but when you do a new thing among us, we resist it like it was the work of the Devil.  We see others joyfully responding to you, and we look down our nose at their foolishness.  Instead of stepping out in faith, we sit solidly on the status quo.  God, forgive our blind stubbornness, and save us from our proud and willful ways.  Amen.

Our Church Conference will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at 7:00 p.m.  Election of church leadership, reports and recommendations are on the agenda.  The Reverend Lynn Pier-Fitzgerald, our District Superintendent will lead the meeting.  All church members are invited and encouraged to attend.

Koinonia Meals: Sign-up this morning for “dinner” at one of our church member’s home.  Ten host families have indicated date, time and type of meal they will be having.  The meals range from brunch to Sunday late afternoon dinner, to a weeknight meal and everything in between.  The sign-up sheets are on the back of the Vision Board.  This is a marvelous opportunity to get to know people, enjoy some good food and fun together.

Last Chance for Input Into Our Current Visioning Process

Your vision team is preparing to submit our implementation action plan to Administrative Council for approval.   This morning you have been given a white card by the ushers; if you have input of any kind for your Vision Team, please jot it down on the card and place your card in the offering plate today or next Sunday.  We would like to thank all of you who have provided input to our questions on the Vision Wall over the past five months.

Our final mission statement action point is to:

“Send persons into the world to share their faith and live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ.”

Our Vision Wall question for this month is in two parts.

How are we doing today?   How can we improve?

Check out the Vision Wall in Fellowship Hall this morning on your way to coffee after the service.  Review the input that you have provided so far and be sure to answer this month’s questions.

Your Vision Team would like to know what You think.
