PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Patient God, we are a people in a hurry.  We confess to you that we value faster more than deeper, and getting there,  more than growing.  We miss the tiger lily on our way to the art fair, the wren’s song on our way to the concert.  God, we miss the child on the way to the adult.  We only know how to wait with our fingers tapping.  We hurry to do things ourselves, God, because we find your steady, deliberate slowness irritating and scary.  Teach us to trust you so we can learn how to wait with patience.  Amen.

A fun day is planned for the United Methodist Women’s Annual Summer Outing Thursday, July 11 starting  at 9:00 a.m..  This year we will be touring This Ole Farm Museum near Buckley.  The owners have a marvelous collection of old farm implements and gadgets.  The tour includes demonstrations of many old items; it is a very interesting place to visit. Following the tour, we will have lunch together at the Karlin Inn.  Sign-up TODAY on the sheet on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board.  All are welcome.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR rehearsal will be this morning, following the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  Practice lasts for one-half hour and is held in the sanctuary.  All children kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to join in this fun time of singing.

Our church Website has a new look – take a peek at www.umccadillac.org.  Our Webmaster, Dan Kinney, has updated the site.  Lots of good information and many links are available.  You can even get you own e-mail address off the site also the Sunday bulletin is posted.  The entire Lenten Devotional Guide is online through the link on the home page.  A brand NEW feature is the online Cokesbury bookstore and CBD bookstore - check it out!!.  If you need to know about an event or a meeting time, check it out there.

If you were photographed for our latest pictorial directory and have not received your copy, check on the table in Fellowship Hall.  There are still a few directories left; they are labeled with your name on the back.

Please note the church has hearing assistance devices for use during worship.  These can be used by persons with or without hearing aids.  Also available are LARGE PRINT HYMNALS and, if needed, we can make large print bulletins.
