*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Come, let all who would serve the Lord gather now for worship.
People: But there are some who would silence the message of God’s love.
Leader: Even Jesus faced those who would keep God’s love from the Temple.
People: Then let us walk with Christ and share God’s love with all we see.
Leader: For the Gospel of Christ cannot be stopped once in a believer’s heart.
All: Blessed be the name of the
Lord!

If you have a prayer joy or
concern, please fill out a prayer card and hand it to an usher during the
singing of the hymn.
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of power and right, you have told
us to work in your vineyard. But we are
too much like the son who said he would go, and then did not work. We claim to be faithful and obedient to your
will, but when you do a new thing among us, we resist it like it was the work
of the Devil. We see others joyfully
responding to you, and we look down our nose at their foolishness. Instead of stepping out in faith, we sit
solidly on the status quo. God, forgive
our blind stubbornness, and save us from our proud and willful ways. Amen.

As we are called to be faithful in our
work, O God, accept our gifts as we seek to respond. May our hearts be as willing as your grace is
reassuring. May our faith be as firm as
your forgiveness that frees us. May our
decisions be as deliberate as your righteousness that delivers us. You have called us your own, O Christ. We confess you as Lord of all that we have
and all that we are. Amen.
