TO WORSHIP
Leader: As we come together today, O Lord,
we are tossed to and fro on waves of fear and doubt.
People: O Calmer of troubled water, let us
hear again your reassuring words,“Take heart, it is I; have no fear.”
Leader: As we come together today, O Lord,
we are driven here and there by winds of ambition and pride.
People: O Healer of troubled souls, let us
hear again your reassuring words, ““Take heart, it is I; have no fear.”
All: Come,
Lord Jesus, and bless our worship with the gift of your presence that we might
find peace for our anxious hearts and meaning for our troubled lives.

UNISON
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Ever-living
God, we confess that our faith, like Peter’s, falters and fails at all the
worst times and that like him, we find ourselves sinking in life’s deep waters
and stormy seas as a result of the timidity of our faith. Forgive our weakness of heart and spirit, O
God, and remind us that when all else fails, we shall still find ourselves in
the grasp of the saving hand of Jesus, whose love and compassion never
fail. In Christ’s holy name we humbly
pray. Amen.
