THE PEOPLE OF GOD PRAYING

      PRAYER HYMN                                                                        #593

      “Here I Am, Lord”

If you have a prayer joy or concern, please fill out a prayer card and hand it to an usher during the singing of the hymn.

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

On the shores of our lives, O God, you beckon us to follow you.  You invite us to leave our comfortable boats and journey in mission with you.

Yet we hear your call differently.  Some of us are too busy to really listen to you.  Some of us want a different assignment, we can’t believe that you would ask this of us.  Some of us think we are not worthy, have nothing to offer.  Some of us are not ready to risk following you.  We are not trusting.

On the shores of our lives, you beckon and call; if we follow, we may not know success, but we will surely know great love and peace in the arms of God.  Let us be courageous enough to say.  “Here I am, send me.”  Amen.

Love INC has a client needing transportation from his home in Cadillac to his job in McBain weekdays. This young man’s work hours are 7 am - 5:30 pm.  He is able to pay towards gasoline and his family would be ever so thankful if you could help even one day a week.  Please call the Love INC office at 779-1888 for more information.  You will be a great blessing to this family.

Members of the congregation have inquired about sharing in a gift in memory of David Schutte, Marianne’s husband.  If you would like to participate, place your gift in a pew envelope or indicate it on your offering envelope.  Our collective gifts will be sent to the Lucas Christian Reformed Church for their Grand Piano Fund.  We will send the gift at the end of October.

On Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:30 p.m. there will be a Candlelight Vigil at the Rotary Arts Pavilion to mourn victims, celebrate survivors, and affirm a non-violent future sponsored by the Cadillac Area OASIS/Family Resource Center and the Wexford-Missaukee Family Violence Task Force.  See the hall bulletin board for more information.

The Advent Event is a fun family activity that will take place on the First Sunday of Advent, December 1, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Traditionally, there are several craft tables where the children make crafts to decorate the Christmas tree in the fellowship hall and to take home.  Also, the crafts are delivered in our Advent Bags to our shut-ins by the Senior High Youth Group.

Are you willing to supervise one of our craft tables? Do you have a craft idea that you would like to share with the children of our church?  Any materials or supplies used will be reimbursed.
