“When Jesus the Healer” Vs. 1, 3, 5 & 7
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND WORDS OF PROMISE
Gracious Spirit, give us the courage to look deep, to
listen to the murmurs of the soul and to find the truths that bring life and
hope. Forgive us for our hurry that bruises our inner wisdom and our worry that
blocks your grace. Restore our inner
sight that allows us to see your Presence in the common events of life, the
ordinary experiences of living. O God,
hear us. Loving God, heal us, we
pray. Amen.

Calling all Secret Saints: Every year, members of our
congregation are given the opportunity to become Secret Saints for our college
students who are living away from home. The job of the Secret Saint is to
maintain some contact with the student during the course of the school
year. Secret Saints often send cards,
cookies, postcards or other items on a monthly basis. September 14 will be the official sign-up day
for Secret Saints. A table will be set
up in fellowship hall after both services for those individuals who are
interested in "sainthood." If
you do not plan to be in church on that Sunday or if you would simply like to
sign up early, you may call Barb Tatarchuk.
Parents of College Students: If you are the parent of a college student who is living
away from home, you should be receiving a call asking for up-to-date addresses
and information about your son or daughter.
If you do not receive a call from anyone on the Higher Education
Committee, drop off the information at the church office or call Barb
Tatarchuk.
The United Methodist Women
remind us to mark our calendar, and invite a friend for their General Meeting
on Thursday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. A
fun and informative program is planned.
Bring your favorite tea cup. All
women are invited.

40 Days
of Purpose - Prayer Focus: GOD’S
PROVISIONS
Pray
that God will provide the energy, time and endurance for all tasks to be done
in preparation for the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign.
Pray
that God will provide the needed volunteers to make each Campaign event
successful.
Pray
that God will provide unity among leaders and ministries in our church, as they
give time and adjust their schedules to accommodate the Campaign.
And not because we think we can do
anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and success comes from
God. 2 Corinthians 3:5
