We are looking for a few ringers.  The Bell Choir is in need of some additional ringers.  The ability to read music is helpful but not necessary.  Practice is held each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Corbin Room.  Questions, contact the Bell Choir Director, Tonja Hinkston.

 

Also, the Chancel Choir could use some additional voices.  Some of our regular members are away or will be away for a few weeks in the near future.  Practice is on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Come and join us for a season; we would love to have you.  Need additional information, call Walt Stump, Chancel Choir Director.

 

The Staff/Parish Relations Committee is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Church Treasurer. Application and job description are available in the church office or speak with Pastor Dale..

Dorcas Circle meets on Tuesday, February 11 at the Hillcrest Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.  If you have any questions, please call Joan Deer.

 

United Singles Group has been started at the South Community United Methodist Church.  The church is located at the corner of M-115 and 47 Road.  We meet Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m.  For information call 775-3067, 743-2253 or 829-3455.

 

A Spaghetti Dinner to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center of Cadillac will be held Tuesday, February 11, 5-8 p.m. at St. Ann’s Church.  Cost: Adults $6, Children 6-10 $3, Age 5 and under free.

 

The Flower Calendar for 2003 is posted in the hall outside the church office.  You may place flowers in honor or memory of a friend or loved one, in honor of a special occasion or to the Glory of God.  The cost is still $15.After use on Sunday, the flowers are available for your enjoyment.  Several upcoming Sundays are open for flowers.

Membership Classes.

 

Pastor Ostema will host a Membership Session at 9:30 am today. If you are interested in learning more about the congregation and its ministry, please feel welcome to attend. For those desiring to join the church, additional sessions will be held on Sundays, February 16 and 23, at 9:30 a.m.  Reception for new members is tentatively planned for February 23 during morning worship.

 

We welcome the music ministry of Ron Kendzierski on violin this morning and appreciate his willingness to share his musical gift. 

 

Our church Website has a new look – take a peek at www.umccadillac.org.  Our Webmaster, Dan Kinney, has updated the site.  Lots of good information and many links are available.  You can even get you own e-mail address off the site also the Sunday bulletin is posted.  A brand NEW feature is the online Cokesbury bookstore and CBD bookstore - check it out!!.  If you need to know about an event or a meeting time, check it out there.

 

Please note the church has hearing assistance devices for use during worship.  These can be used by persons with or without hearing aids.  Also available are LARGE PRINT HYMNALS and, if needed, we can make large print bulletins.

 

Attention Junior and Senior High Youth

The HUB is open to all Middle School Youth on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.  It is open for all Senior High Youth on the 4th Saturday from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.  The HUB is located in the old Motor Mall at the corner of M 55 and M 66.  For more information you can call 775-5291

 

All 3rd through 5th graders are invited to the “Learning to Use My Bible Class.”  The classes are on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month, concluding on May 25, 2003.  Start time is 11:00 a.m.  so please come to class before the 11:00 worship service begins.  Class ends at noon.  The classroom is in the Education Wing, 3rd door on the left.  If you are a 3rd through 5th grader who attended these classes last year, please come again to review and continue learning!
