PRAYER HYMN #2105
“Jesus,
Tempted in the Desert”
If you have a prayer joy or concern, please fill out a
prayer card and hand it to an usher during the singing of the hymn.
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
We confess, O God, that though you have borne us
through barren deserts we remain unchanged.
We erase the tracks of our pilgrimage and blot our the memory of our
trials. As your angels ministered to
Jesus in the wilderness, you have also sustained us. But we have forgotten your providence. Jesus emerged from the wilderness afire,
urgently proclaiming your presence, but we have emerged with indifference to your
demands. God have mercy upon us, who are
complacent in the face of divine miracle and divine demand. Amen.

*PRAYER OF CONSECRATION (In unison)
Thank you, God, for the signs and wonders that reveal
your presence. Thank you for the
covenant fulfilled in Jesus Christ. We
want to do our part to share your love with the world. Use our offerings and our lives to bring a
realization of your reign among us.
Extend your realm by re-creating the church as a true representation of Jesus Christ. May we be humble, teachable, and faithful as
we seek to lead others into covenant community.
Amen.

The Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit trip has been
scheduled for Saturday, April 5. We will
be leaving the church as a group around 8:00 a.m.. This is an incredible opportunity to see this
exhibit. We will also be visiting the
Planetarium as part of the tour; lunch will be on your own in the Museum. Tickets are $14.50. We reserved 26 slots. Please see Judy or call
her at 775-5362 for your reservation.
You still have time to join one of the Lenten Study
groups. Five different times are
available. Please sign one of the yellow
sheets today so that we may know who is participating. Remember, if you are unable to attend all the
sessions that is fine. Come, share and
grow with others during this season of Lent as we prepare our hearts and minds
for celebrating Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday.
The Prayer Tree for those serving in the
military is available in Fellowship Hall for you to place a heart on with the
name and service of a member of the armed forces that you would like remembered
in prayer during these precarious days.
The Flower Calendar for 2003 is posted in the
hall outside the church office. You may
place flowers in honor or memory of a friend or loved one, in honor of a
special occasion or to the Glory of God.
The cost is still $15. After use
on Sunday, the flowers are available for your enjoyment.
