*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:            Sisters and brothers, as we gather in the welcome of God’s love, as we gather in the joy of our unity in Christ, as we gather in the power of the Spirit, let us listen for the voice of God.

People:            Let us worship God, who has spoken and still speaks to those who attend to the roar or the whisper of the Holy One.  Amen!

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O Holy Spirit, how we have grieved you!  How often our words have been bitter, filled with malice and anger.  How easily have we uttered lies of pretension and self-protection.  How readily we take for ourselves the rewards of another’s labor!  Forgive all that is false within us and among us.  Free us from the self-justifying excuses that keep us from reaching out to one another.  We want to believe, to trust, to live as imitators of Jesus Christ.  Help us, gracious God.  Amen.

Vacation Bible School Notes . . .

We are continuing to look for items that will help us decorate the church with a nautical or fishing theme.  Do you have an old rowboat, ring buoy, fishing nets, driftwood or conch shells that you could loan us?  A picture is posted on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board that will give an idea of what we are hoping to achieve.

Also, this is a good week to eat some yogurt, jello or pudding.  We need single serving clear plastic yogurt lids and jello and pudding boxes for the VBS crafts.  Please bring your donations to the church office; they will be used to shine God’s light!

Finance Secretary, Dan Kinney has your Monthly Pledge Update available to be picked up in the Fellowship Hall.  There is also information on Electronic Fund Transfers.

Love, INC needs donors and shoppers for their Yard and Bake Sale to be held July 18 and 19 from 9:00 until 5:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Reed City.  If you have any donations that need to be picked up, you can call 779-1888.

Temple Hill Baptist Church will present Doug Knorr in concert at the Rotary Arts Pavilion tonight at 6:00 pm.  In the event of rain, the concert will be held at Temple Hill Baptist Church, 1601 West Division.

Please note the church has hearing assistance devices for use during worship.  These can be used by persons with or without hearing aids.  Also available are LARGE PRINT HYMNALS and LARGE PRINT BULLETINS.
