THE
GATHERING TO WORSHIP
PRELUDE
BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST
WELCOME AND PARISH NOTES
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Who do we say that Jesus is?
People: Jesus is the Christ of God.
Leader: Christ summons us to act in ways that
displease the crowd.
People: Our action sometimes belies our confession.
Leader: Christ calls us to take up our cross and
follow him.
People: Our action sometimes belies our confession.
Leader: Yet Christ does not forsake us, even though
we abandon him.
All: O Lord, let us, this day, pursue you as
you pursue us, until what we say about you in worship and what people see in us
at work become one.

to be shared, please fill out
a
prayer card and hand it to an usher during the Prayer Hymn.
UNISON PRAYER
Reigning God, whom we have glimpsed in creation and in
life of one who shared our common lot, help us to acknowledge the Messiah, not
in empty words, but in self-emptying service that risks life for the sake of
love. May we come to be so attuned to
your precepts that the song of our hearts becomes a contagious attraction,
transforming the groups of which we are a part so that all persons may experience
your great love. Amen.

40 Days of Purpose - Prayer Focus: The Campaign
Team
v
Pray for each
person involved in the leadership of the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign to
rely on God’s sufficiency and strength.
v
Pray for the health and stamina of our pastor, staff
and leaders on the Campaign Team. Pray for the effective communication of plans
between the Campaign leaders, the church staff and the congregation.
v
Pray for God’s
anointing power to accomplish great things through each team member.
My grace is sufficient for you, for power
is perfected in weakness. Most gladly,
therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ
may dwell in me. 2
Corinthians 12:9-10

you would like remembered in prayer during these precarious days. We invite you to remember these military
personnel in prayer.
Please note
the church has hearing assistance devices for use during worship. These can be used by persons with or without
