PRAYER HYMN #472
“Near to the Heart of God”
If you have a prayer joy or concern, please fill out a prayer card and hand it to an usher during the singing of the hymn.
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Divine Companion, you meet us every day, in the ordinary moments of encounter, in the common hungers of life. Yet, how often we miss you, failing to look deep enough, failing to stay long enough, failing to hear clear enough. We confess to setting up narrow boundaries, maintaining established prejudices, refusing to shift perceptions and thus miss the new thing you are doing. Send your living water to wear away our rock-like defenses. Let our thirst for truth take us to the heart of God, to the healing river. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

READING AND PROCLAIMING OF THE WORD
CHORAL ANTHEM Chancel Choir
“River in Judea” - Arr. John Leavitt
There is a river in Judea that I heard of long ago.
And it’s a singing, ringing river that my soul cries
out to know. Late at night I hear it
singing then again when I wake at dawn.
And it fills me up with hope and goodwill, the will to go on . . .
When I’m weary and downhearted, how I long for the
song it sings, for the calm within its gentle blue, the peace that it brings
There is a river in Judea that I heard of long ago . .

We
are looking for a few ringers. The
Bell Choir is in need of some additional ringers. The ability to read music is helpful but not necessary. Practice is held each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. We have some wonderful new music for the
upcoming months. Questions, call Tonja
Hinkston, Bell Choir Director.
Also, the Chancel Choir could use some additional voices. Some of our regular members are away or will be away for a few weeks in the near future. Practice is on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. Come and join us for a season; we would love to have you. Need additional information, call Walt Stump, Chancel Choir Director.
The Staff/Parish Relations Committee is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Church Treasurer. Application and job description are available in the church office or speak with Pastor Dale.
