People: It is
required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.
Leader: God
brings to light that which is hidden and discloses the purposes of our hearts.
People: Our
harvest of faithfulness is God’s to judge whether the needy and oppressed have
been helped.

“Lord,
Listen to Your Children Praying” Sing
Twice
If you have a prayer joy or concern, please fill out a
prayer card and hand it to an usher during the singing of the hymn.
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious God, in reverence we bow before you, giving
thanks for your love and seeking your grace.
Humbly we acknowledge that you have blessed us and called us to be your
stewards in the world. Yet we confess
that we have hoarded more than our share of the world’s bounty; that in silence
we have consented to the oppression of our sisters and brothers; that we have
failed to witness, by word and action, to the liberating truth of Jesus
Christ. In Christ’s name, forgive us and
grant us a new birth of spirit, that we may be your instruments of oneness and
of joy, of healing and of peace. Amen.
