Creator of friendships, whose love lifts us from mindless servitude to caring community, we thank you for the guidance of your commandments and the promise of joy in Jesus Christ.  We seek to love as we have been loved, to risk life itself for the sake of our sisters and brothers, and to bear fruit that will last.  Grant us the strength and courage we need.  Amen.

Special Friends Program:  As a part of our newly expanded Parish Nurse Program, we are recruiting new participants for our “Special Friends” program.  This is a  program in which we pair a shut-in or a person who is alone, with someone who will visit, call, possibly share an activity and just generally take a special interest in his/her welfare.  This can be a very rewarding experience for both parties.  If you or someone you know could benefit from having or being a “special friend”, please call the church office 775-5362 or Donna Freeland.  If you are able to give us a little personal information and some special interests, hobbies, etc., it will hopefully help with matching compatible people.  Our hope is to form some lasting friendships with many blessings for everyone involved.

Next Sunday, our donations of nonperishable foods and paper products will be given to the King’s Storehouse Food Pantry at the First Baptist Church.

We will be honoring our graduating high school seniors next Sunday at a Breakfast at 9:30 and during the 11:00 worship and Coffee Hour that follows.
