CLIP BOARD MINISTRY FOR SEPTEMBER
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Jesus has sown the Word of God’s kingdom in the world.
People: We have heard your Word, Sower of
Truth.
Let it
grow in our hearts.
Leader: Many who hear the Word never bear fruit.
People: Heavenly Sower, let us go beyond
hearing.
Give us
understanding, depth and single-mindedness,
so that
our lives bear the fruit that gives you joy.
*HYMN OF PRAISE #89
“Joyful,
Joyful, We Adore Thee”
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH #884
*GLORIA PATRI #70

PRAYER HYMN #472
“Near
to the Heart of God”
UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND
WORDS OF PROMISE
Loving God, Sower
and Reaper of amazing grace, we admit to you that we are like stony fields,
capable of growing goodness and sharing it around but also prone to allow
goodness to wither and weeds to flourish.
Your mercy has taken root in us but we do not share enough of it, your
justice has inspired us but we have inadequately implemented it, your inclusive
love has brought us together but we indulge the things that separate.
Loving God, please open the furrows
of our lives to receive again the seeds of your Gospel. Rain your mercy upon us,
shine your warmth and light into every dark place and bring forth in us the
harvest that in your glorious love you have purposed for us. Through Christ
Jesus our Savior. Amen!
