UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION &
WORDS OF PROMISE
Freeing God, it is you who calls us
to freedom.
It is you who sets us free.
But this is not the freedom to
judge other.
This is not the freedom to spoil
our lives.
This is not the freedom to live as
we see fit.
Your truth will set us free!
We live the freedom of Christ’s
way!
We lose our worldly life so to live
in the freedom of love.
Free us, we pray from the captivity
of our ways and forgive our sins. In Christ’s
name, we pray. Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (In unison)
Almighty God, we read the words of
Paul, " . . . do not use your freedom as an opportunity for
self-indulgence" and contrast them with modern sayings, such as "Pay
yourself first!" Remind us that you
call us to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Help us, God, to exhibit the characteristics of gentleness, joy,
generosity, and self-control. Bless this offering that supports those various
ministries that enable people to live by the Spirit. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
