UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION
So often, O God, we struggle to pray because we are afraid that we do not know how. We worry about saying the wrong things and so remain silent. We try to sort the good from the bad in our lives, and become tongue-tied. We lift up the concerns closest to our hearts yet feel guilty as we forget the needs of others, or work so hard to lift up the sick and the suffering, the hungry and helpless that we neglect our own aches and longings.
So we confess our own need of you. Change us from broken earth-bound creatures to proclaimers of your heavenly glory and power. Give us voices to pray and sing, ears to hear your truth and wisdom, all in the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (In unison)
Christ, our example: We bring ourselves and these gifts to you, asking that you be at our side as we seek to be persons of faith. We pray that as we imitate you, others may find your spirit in us. We dedicate ourselves this day to build up rather than to destroy, to heal rather than inflict pain, to hope rather than despair. In our struggles to be your people, we rejoice that we can stand firm in you. Amen.

Presentation
We present this drum set and cymbals to be consecrated to the glory of God and for service in this congregation.
Leader: It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
People: to sing praises to your name, O Most High,
Leader: to declare your steadfast love in the morning.
People: and your faithfulness at night,
Leader: to the music of the lute and the harp,
People: to the melody of the lyre.
Leader: For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
People: at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Let us pray:
Eternal God,
who the generations have worshiped through the gift of music, accept our praise to you in the sound of this new instrument, which we consecrate in your name and to your glory.
Grant that its music may be a blessing to all who worship here,
and that they may be consecrated to you,
whose sound has gone out through all the earth
and whose words to the end of the world.
Let our music be so joined to your holy Word
that your glory may surround us
and empowers us for the service to which you call us in the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
