PRAYER HYMN #2200
“O Lord, Hear My Prayer”
PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND WORDS OF
ASSURANCE
You have given us your Word, O God,
bound in a book and we ignore it so often.
Sometimes, we use it to prove that we are right and our enemies wrong.
Sometimes we use it to hide from
our responsibility to your world. Sometimes we use it to avid change an growth.
Sometimes, we use it as an excuse,
as a weapon and to avoid thinking for ourselves.
We confess that we read what we
like and pretend that the rest in not there.
Worst of all, O God, we think we can keep your Word bound in a duty
book, safe and harmless. We forget that
you are a God who will not be bound, a God who breaks all chains. Gracious God, forgive our narrowness and our
cowardly faith. Amen.

Are you new to our church
community? Want to know more about the United Methodist Church of
Cadillac? Have you been thinking about
joining the church as a member? If so,
you are invited to attend the “Welcoming Time” today after the
10:00 worship. During this time Pastor
Dale will share some brief history and information about our congregation and
answer any questions you might have about the church. We would love to help you
get connected here. Please feel free to
attend!
Looking to know others in our
congregation, plan now to participate in our “Let’s Get Together” times. On June 20, you will be able to fill-out a
card which will be put in a basket; then, the baskets will be passed back
through the congregation so that you might pick out a card. You will have the opportunity to meet/eat
with two different families. You could
meet for any meal at a home. restaurant or park,
gather for dessert and conversation or share over coffee. You make plans which suit the schedules of
the persons involved. We would hope
these times together would be completed by Labor Day. Plan now to share in these “together times.”. If you will not be
here June 20, please see Judy Coffey and fill out a card. It will be included and a card will be mailed
to you.
