WELCOME

PARISH NOTES

*CALL TO WORSHIP

One:     There is something more,

All:      Or something missing,

One:     That sends us searching in the dark,

All:      Looking for answers,

One:     Risking a question.

All:      We are drawn here

One:     Because God touched us,

All:      Gave us hope,

One:     Whispered our name.

All:      Here in this place,

One:     We journey toward grace

All:      And know the "something more"

One:     Is revealed in the love of Jesus' face.

THE PEOPLE OF GOD PRAYING

If you have a prayer joy or concern to be shared, please fill out a prayer card and hand it to an usher during the Prayer Hymn.

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God, when we compare our lives to the potential we believe you have in mind for us, we realize anew that our thoughts are unfortunately not your thoughts and our ways are sadly very different from your ways. And yet your mercy is so great that you keep giving us another chance to cultivate our identity as people shaped by your thoughts and your ways.

Lord, have mercy

Silent confession

We confess that there are times when we so lower our standards that we fail to take sin and its consequences seriously.

Christ, have mercy

Silent confession

We confess that there are times when we find it more comfortable to adapt to the standards of the world rather than responding to the challenges of true Christian discipleship

Lord, have mercy

Silent confession

Merciful and gracious God, strengthen us with your Spirit so that we willingly turn towards you, thinking your thoughts and following your way.  Help us to bring forth fruit worthy of our calling as followers of Jesus Christ. This we pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

One Great Hour of Sharing is celebrated next Sunday, March 21. Your offering combined with many others does wonderful things.  The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is able to feed people with food and hope, wrap babies in warmth and love, and empower communities with skills and support.  Gifts renew the giver, too, in spirt and strength.  An envelope was included with your recent Newsletter or you may use a pew envelope.  Thank you for your generosity.

Camp Brochures for the West Michigan Conference for 2004 are available in the Fellowship Hall.  Please feel free to take one so you can begin planning your summer camp experience.  If you have any questions about camp, see or call (775-3988) Marian Fuller, our camp coordinator.
