card and hand it to an usher during the Prayer Hymn.
PRAYER HYMN #496
“Sweet
Hour of Prayer”
UNISON PRAYER
Lord, even when our faith is weak
and small, we sometimes puff up with spiritual arrogance, expecting thanks for
everything we do. When we sweep the
floor, we want thanks; when we teach Sunday School, we want recognition; when
we prepare a meal, serve the poor, visit the sick, give clothes to the naked
and shelter to the homeless, we sometimes secretly want our good works
known. We know it is only our duty as
Christians, but we sometimes want to earn our way into heaven in the eyes of
our sisters and brothers. We confess our
spiritual pride and know that only you can weigh and measure our souls. Forgive us, we are your faithful servant
people. Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (in unison)
We are grateful to you, O God, for
the faith we have inherited. We give
thanks for the courage and faithfulness of ancestors who suffered for the
gospel that we might know your love. We
join with them in putting our trust in you.
May we match their generosity and self-discipline, seeking above all
else to know your will and do it. To
that end, we dedicate our offerings.
Amen.

The United Methodist
Men will meet on Thursday, November 18 (Note date change) at

devotions, we will view the video, “Roaring Waters,” The Forces of God’s
Creation. Frank Weikel and Jerry Deer

You may still give to
the Tools of Hope which includes the Blanket Ministry. From tents, blankets, and other emergency supplies
for survivors of the earthquake that devastated Bam, Iran, to emergency food
rations, blankets, candles and matches and plastic sheeting in the wake of
monsoon flooding in parts of India, shelter needs come in all shapes and sizes. We can help these people with our “Loose
Plate” offering. A warm blanket costs just $5 but can make a
big difference between health and sickness.
Needing a Thanksgiving
gift for a loved one?? Give a gift to the
Tools of Hope and Blanket project. We
will provide a card for gift giving.
Cards will be available on the table in the Narthex.
If you are “flying”
to a warmer climate this winter, please call the church office at
775-5362. We can forward your mail or
hold it for you. Your notice to us helps
to keep expenses for returned mail at a minimum.
