*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:     We have been called together as the body of Christ.

People:     We are one body, though we have many members.

Leader:     Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole,

                 and not the other way around.

People:     But not all members have the same function;

                 we have different gifts.

Leader:     God calls us to use these gifts generously, maturely

                 and cheerfully to build up the body of Christ.

People:     Together we present ourselves in service to God and each other.

Leader:     Let us worship God!

Creator God, we confess that we do not give our lives over to the transforming power of your Spirit to call out the gifts of each one of us and to build up the life of the whole Church for mission and ministry in this world.  Today, as we wonder at the beauty of your creation in the world around us, may we also open ourselves to the new creation you seek to bring about within and among us, through the grace of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
