and pray
People: We
do not know how to pray.
Leader: Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, has
taught us
how to pray.
People: But we do not know how to pray as we ought
to
pray.
Leader: The Holy Spirit engages with our spirit to
pray as
we ought.
People: But how can we have the Holy Spirit?
Leader: God gives the Holy Spirit to all who ask.
People: Then, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we
will worship and pray.
All: Thanks be to God.

PRAYER HYMN #526
“What
a Friend We Have in Jesus”
Tune:
The Rose
UNISON PRAYER
O Lord, teach us to pray for we do not know
how. So often prayer seems to be a dry,
lifeless exercise. We run out of time,
do not know how or understand. Teach us,
we pray, to clear the clutter and clatter from our lives that we might hear
your still, small voice, the voice that whispers to us the secrets of life, the
voice that guides us in hidden paths of peace, righteousness, love and
joy. O Lord, teach us to pay! Amen!
