PRAYER HYMNS

“O How He Loves You and Me”   #2108

“More Like You”   #2167

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O God, whose upward all in Christ Jesus we have so often chosen to ignore, we confess that we settle for lesser goals while you summon us to embrace the realm of heaven.  Take hold of us, O Christ.  If we have fallen to the ground, lift us up.  If we have lost sight of the finish, point the way.  Grasp our hands and pull us forward, seize our spirits and urge them on; show us the course and we will press toward the goal, toward the prize of our high calling as your people.  Amen.

            That were a present far too small;

            Love so amazing, so divine,

            Demands my soul, my life, my all.  Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION   (in unison)

Mighty God, you have given us so much and often we do not even appreciate it. Today we dedicate these gifts to you, for you stay with us as we run the race called life. May all that we do in our daily work be for the building up of your heavenly kingdom. Use our efforts for your service as we press on toward the goal, which is in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Looking ahead to Palm/Passion Sunday, April 4 The early service will follow a traditional format, while the late service will follow the reading of the passion story.  Holy Communion will be celebrated in both worship services and Palm Crosses will be distributed.  A Procession of Palms will take place at the 11:00 worship.

Come, gather around the candlelit cross-shaped tables in Fellowship Hall on Maundy Thursday, April 8.  As I Have Loved You, a dramatic Maundy Thursday Service, will be shared.  Our service will involve elements of the Jewish Passover Seder and Christian Tenebrae (the extinguishing of candles.) This is always lovely and meaningful time of worship.  Plan now to attend .
