*CALL TO WORSHIP

One:    Hear and understand! The seeds are sown among us.
The seeds are sown within us.
Shall they fall along the path and be devoured by the birds?

All:       That is the way of the world.

One:    Shall they fall on rocky soil and wither in the sun?

All:       That is the way of the world.

One:    Shall they fall upon the thorns and be choked?

All:       That is the way of the world.

One:    But what is the way of the Lord?

All:       Some seeds shall fall on fertile soil: this is the promise of God. And they shall bring forth grain: some thirtyfold, some sixtyfold and some hundredfold. As the Lord’s way with the seed, so is the Lord’s way with us.

UNISON PRAYER

O God, before you our lives and intentions are plain. What do you see when you see our hearts? Does the Word you speak to us fall on rocky soil or among weeds? Or have we become simple, open and willing in our faith? Send your Spirit to fill our lives with your love that we may not only hear but also do your Word.  Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (in unison)

O God, you have sown your seeds in our lives and you have nurtured us and cared for us. We offer to you now the fruit of your labor within us. Use us and the gifts we offer in the work of your Kingdom – both here in this place – and in our community – and in the church around the world. Grant that through what we say and do a rich harvest of peace and praise may bring glory to your name. We as in the name of Jesus.  Amen.
