UNISON PRAYER
God of love, you have called us to be
caring and forgiving people. We would
praise you in the way we treat others.
Grant us patience with our sisters and brothers, lest we demand of them
what we ourselves cannot deliver or expect of them what they are not yet able
to do. Help us as we seek to strengthen
our relationship with you that we may also live in community with one another
and grow into the fullness of Christ.
Amen.

The full extent of Hurricane
Katrina's devastation will not be known for some time, but United Methodists
around the world are already extending love and care to those in need. Your generous gift to UMCOR Advance
#982523, Hurricanes 2005 Global, will help those affected by Hurricane
Katrina. Remember 100% of every dollar
given to an Advance Special goes directly to those in need. Mark your offering envelope. Also needed are Health Kits - pick up
instructions on the table in the church narthex.
There will be a brief UMW meeting
following the worship services on September 18 to discuss the Holiday Bazaar. Please plan on attending as your help is
needed! Note the DATE CHANGE.
If you are planning to attend this
year’s Parade of Homes Tour, you may purchase tickets in the church
office. The cost per ticket is
$5.00. The proceeds from these direct
sales will go to Love, INC. or Wexford County Habitat for Humanity.
Love, INC. has an immediate need for a natural
gas range. If you have one available,
please speak to Pastor Dale following services today.

As more and more clients contact Love,
INC. in financial trouble due to poor money management on a thin
income, we again find ourselves in need of caring Christians who are willing to
volunteer as budget helpers. We believe
that teaching financial accountability is the approach to take first, before
simply asking a church to pay a bill without responsibility on the part of the
client. You will be trained by the
director of our Budget Program, given forms and materials, and be asked to
volunteer only approximately one hour per week with the client assigned to
you. You can truly make a difference in
the life of someone who has not had a caring mentor or parent who has taught
them financial accountability. Please
call Diane Wood at the Love INC office, 779-1888 to learn more.
