from our Savior Jesus Christ.

we remember one another
and celebrate our partnership in the gospel.
Leader: God has begun
a good work among us and
calls for our worthy, wholehearted involvement.
People: We will stand
side by side, firm in one spirit,
striving for the faith of the gospel.

PRAYER HYMN #2275
“Kyrie”
Lord
have mercy ... Christ have mercy ... Lord Have mercy
RESPONSIVE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving God, we have failed to love
you with all our heart and to be good stewards of your creation: Lord, have
mercy.
All: Lord, have mercy.
We have failed to take up the cross
of discipleship and to be good stewards of your gospel: Christ, have mercy.
All: Christ, have mercy.
We have failed to be faithful
members of your church and to be good stewards of your spiritual gifts: Lord,
have mercy.
All: Lord, have mercy.
DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS The good
news is that all who trust in Christ will have their sins forgiven and receive
eternal life. As you hold this faith, know that you are set free from all your
sins in the name of our Creator God, of Jesus Christ and of the Holy Spirit, to
whom be glory for ever and ever.
All: Thanks be to God.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION (in unison)
All the world is your vineyard, O God, and
we are laborers therein. The fruits of our
labors are yours, but you allow us to manage them for you. Most we use for our own benefit but today we
bring a portion to help others as you have commanded. We do so joyfully, asking you to bless the
work of your church here and everywhere.
Help us to be more faithful stewards.
Amen.

Focus On The
Family broadcast
on Wednesday, September 21 (1370 AM–9:30am, 91.1FM–9:30am & *:30pm,
90.5FM–9:30am & 8:30pm) will feature Moms In Touch International
(MITI). Ty
Nichols, Fern Nichols (MITI founder and
president) eldest son will be speaking, encouraging moms to NEVER stop praying,
to stay in the battle, and to KNOW that your prayers make a difference! Dr. Dobson will close the program with a
short interview with Fern.
If you are planning to attend this
year’s Parade of Homes Tour, you may purchase tickets in the church
office. The cost per ticket is
$5.00. The proceeds from these direct
sales will go to Love, INC. or Wexford County Habitat for Humanity.
Mark your calendar now for the
October 6 meeting of Wesley Fellowship.
It will be held at Belle Oakes on LaChance
Road. Potluck with a
program to follow. Joe and Doris Brenneman, along with Suzanne and Tom Johnson and Evelyn
Peterson will be helping to host that meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m..
As more and more clients contact Love,
INC. in financial trouble due to poor money management on a thin income,
we again find ourselves in need of caring Christians who are willing to
volunteer as budget helpers. We believe
that teaching financial accountability is the approach to take first, before
simply asking a church to pay a bill without responsibility on the part of the
client. You will be trained by the
director of our Budget Program, given forms and materials, and be asked to
volunteer only approximately one hour per week with the client assigned to you. You can truly make a difference in the life
of someone who has not had a caring mentor or parent who has taught them
financial accountability. Please call
Diane Wood at the Love INC office, 779-1888 to learn more.
The United Methodist Women
are requesting that you do not bring craft materials, fabric
and/or Attic Treasures or Bazaar items to the church, please, unless you have
spoken to Jean Stump, Carol Jones or Kay Hinkston. We are currently overstocked on fabric
& are out of storage space for other items. Thanks for your help!
The Chancel Choir will
resume rehearsing Wednesday, August 31 in the sanctuary. Our goal is to lead the congregation in
worship, praise God and sing a variety of music; we sing mostly SATB
music. No auditions are required; only a
desire to offer praise to God. Questions,
contact Chancel Choir Director, Walt Stump.
Come on along!!
Pennies for a Purpose: If you would like a container for
our Pennies for a Purpose campaign, you may pick one up in the church narthex.
The Songs of the Shepherds
CD is available for purchase, only $6.00, this morning following
worship. All proceeds go to Love INC.
If your church group is planning to
meet and has special set-up needs, please communicate that to custodian, Dee Piltz, by placing the request in her church office mail
box. Plan to notify Dee well enough in
advance so she can schedule a set up time.
Thank you.
Linens are needed for the Love INC’s Linen Pantry at the First Christian Church. They currently need the following items: Both
king and queen size fitted sheets and blankets, bath towels and wash cloths,
dish towels, dish

of the Linen Ministry at 779-1316.
