GATHERING TO WORSHIP
PRELUDE
BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST
WELCOME AND PARISH NOTES
*CALL TO WORSHIP
One: All you who are broken and discarded by the
world,
come into the house of the Lord.
All: You who are poor in spirit and you who
mourn,
you who are meek or persecuted for
righteousness’ sake,
are welcome in God’s house and
among God’s family.
One: All you whose values and principles contrast
so sharply with what the world holds dear; offer yourselves
in worshiping and serving God.
All: You who are merciful, pure in heart, or
peacemakers,
and you who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,
will find you natural element in
serving God.
One: Blessed are you when you do not fit in with
the rest of the world.
All: Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is
great in heaven.

UNISON PRAYER
We have come before you, God
like those who gathered around
Jesus
on a faraway hill, long ago,
to find new meaning for our lives.
We want our lives to sound in
harmony with your song of love.
We want to live with integrity and
wisdom,
with a spirit of truth.
Allow us to know your presence
and to hear you voice.
Come among us, holy God,
for we pray in the name of
Jesus. Amen.
