*Call to Worship
Leader: Word has gotten out! Today
we tell an ancient story
of a parade, palms and possibilities.
People: And we wave
palms and wear crosses, reminding ourselves that both ecstasy
and agony, joy and disappointment are part of our living.
Leader: Today we
say: Blessed is the One who comes in
God’s name! Hosanna!
People: This One is
Jesus of Nazareth - teacher, builder, cornerstone, Christ.
Leader: In ancient
Jerusalem, people gave Jesus a wonderful welcome the week before the
celebration of Passover.
People: Today, we celebrate the presence of the living Christ!
All: Holy One, thank you for your unmistakable presence!
With
our senses and our minds, we delight in the gift
of life! We honor you
with attentive listening and
we eagerly wait for your voice. Amen.

Unison Prayer of
Confession
O God, we are like
the people of Jerusalem so long ago.
We are hungry for a
hero.
We crave some
glimpse of greatness.
We are starving for
the spectacular.
We are gathered
here like those who watched
the Passion-Parade in
craning our necks to catch
a glimpse of our Messiah.
As we wait here for
the Savior to come
‘let
us not be disappointed when the special One appears
even though we are
certain to be surprised;
and give us courage to
follow
where the One on the
donkey might lead us.
Amen.

Unison Prayer
Holy God, walk with us this week, take
us deep into the events of Jesus' life and reveal to us our own complicity in
the trials and betrayals of life. Help
us not only to examine our fears that lead to tragic actions but also to look
at the unworthy places we put our hope.
Ultimately, God, draw us closer to you, to know the mystery of your love
that overcomes darkness and death and to feel Easter rise in us like the
morning sun. Holy God, stay with
us. Amen.

Were the whole
realm of nature
mine,
that were a present far too small;
love so amazing, so divine
demands my soul, my life, my all. Amen.
*Prayer of Dedication (in unison)
Bless these gifts and our lives, O
God, for we offer them in the name of Jesus, our Lord. He emptied himself that we might be
filled. He humbled himself that we might
be lifted up. We pray these gifts be
used to proclaim the gospel which fills lives that are empty and lifts up those
who need help. In Jesus' name we
pray. Amen.

Loves You and Me” #2108

Maundy Thursday Worship
is on April 13 at 7:00 p.m. Come, gather around the cross-shaped, candlelit tables in
Fellowship Hall as we remember together the last night of the life of
Christ. Holy Communion, a time of
reflection, a choral anthem and scripture readings and hymns will be included
in this lovely and inspirational time of worship.
Community Good Friday
Services
sponsored by the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association will be on Friday,
April 14 at 7:00 p.m. at our Church.
For the first time, we will be holding the Community Good Friday Worship
in the evening. It will be a Service of
Tenebrae or “Darkness” which is based on a 12th century service and
is an extended mediation on the passion of Christ. This special candlelight service will offer
reflections, scripture readings, special music and singing. All are welcome and encouraged to attend as
we reflect on Christ’s love for us.
If you were
photographed for the New Church Directory, your complimentary copy is
available for you in Fellowship Hall.
You are invited to join
“Grow Group”. The purpose of this
group is to provide a safe place to unveil the secret pain in our lives. We are
here to find our voice, to share our stories, and learn and grow from our
experiences. We will be searching for
truth and wisdom as we seek help from the Great Healer. God created us to heal. He urges us on to find wholeness. This class provides an opportunity for that
to happen. If you are hurting from the wounds of childhood sexual abuse and
would like to join our Grow Group, contact Shirley Peterson or Amy Fite. The
next 10 week class will begin on April 3.
The groups are limited and are confidential.
