THE GATHERING TO WORSHIP
PRELUDE
BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST
WELCOME AND PARISH NOTES
*CALL TO WORSHIP
One: We gather on this day to worship our God,
whose words and ways challenge us.
All: God invites us to lose our selfishness to find ourselves.
One: God urges us to empty ourselves to discover life’s fullness.
All: God bids us to be obedient to a divine
will so we might know true freedom.
One: We come to worship our Creator seeking to
have our faith challenged into growth.
All: We root our faith in worship seeking to
find nourishment for our spirits in this growing season of Lent.

you would like shared during the Prayer of

PRAYER SONG #503
“Let
It Breathe On Me” (Sing Twice)
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
We admit, O God,
that we were not thinking of you.
We saw a homeless person and laughed.
We applauded when a prison door was locked. We heard of people dying of thirst and we
changed the channel. We did not protest
when the poor were killed in our name.
We bought good clothes, filled our refrigerators but we forgot about
you. Then we came to church and said we
love you best of all. Forgive us,
merciful God, and stay near us always, that we may never forget you when people
are hungry or homeless or sick or afraid.
May we never again separate our love for you from our love for the world
and its people.
Amen.

You are invited to join “Grow
Group”. The purpose of this group is to
provide a safe place to unveil the secret pain in our lives. We are here to
find our voice, to share our stories, and learn and grow from our experiences. We will be searching for truth and wisdom as
we seek help from the Great Healer. God
created us to heal. He urges us on to
find wholeness. This class provides an
opportunity for that to happen. If you are hurting from the wounds of childhood
sexual abuse and would like to join our Grow Group, contact Shirley Peterson or
Amy Fite. The next 10 week class will begin April 3. The groups are limited and are confidential.
