A HUGE, heartfelt thank you to all who served at the Bazaar.  The chairpersons, their helpers, the men who bussed tables, served and collected money, those who helped with set up and take down and all who donated and made items for sale.  Anyone who helped out in any way, you are appreciated.  Every one of you made my job easy because you took charge and made it happen.  Thank you so much!  Sally Basset, Bazaar Chair.

The Community Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service sponsored by the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church Wednesday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. Back this year is the Community Choir, under the direction of Pastor Dave McMahon.  Pastor Pete Byma of the Cadillac Christian Reformed Church will be the speaker.

We will be receiving a very special offering for the needy at this service.  Our hope is to provide a Mountain of Food and a Month of Meals (at the Shepherd’s Table) for those who are hungry.  You are invited to bring a case or two of canned goods and/or several cans and your monetary offering.  If you are planning to be away over the holiday and would like to share in this offering, please bring your items to the church; we will make sure they get to the right place.

Service of Dedication

for our Church Renovations and New Steeple

The present United Methodist Church of Cadillac was built in 1973 with additions built in 1976 and 1978.  Our new church is more than 33 years old.  The roof, outdoor lighting, our church sign, landscaping, parking lots, fellowship hall and entrance flooring and all the windows were in need of replacement or refreshing.  With the replacement of the roof, the original cupola and spire were removed and a new steeple was put into place.  We embarked on these projects of refurbishing and replacing sixteen months ago.  Today, we come to dedicate all of these improvements to our church building and to offer our renewed commitment to be a congregation which shares God’s grace and compassion in a hurting world.

From Psalm 84, we read:  How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!  My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.  Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.  For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.  I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than live in the tents of the wicked.

A member of the Board of Trustees:  On behalf of the Trustees, I present all of these improvements and renovations to be dedicated to the glory of God and for use in ministry to the world on behalf of Christ.

All:      With thanks, we receive all of these renovations and

the new steeple.  As God has taught us in the holy Word that everything is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer, it is fitting that we bless and dedicate these renovations and our new steeple for use in God's holy name.

The new, lighted church sign, renewed landscaping, day-like outdoor lighting, refurbished parking lots, easy-to-maintain flooring, sound proof sanctuary accordion doors, energy-efficient windows, have made our building more attractive and welcoming, updated and comfortable.  Our new church steeple points to the heavens, shines and radiates light.  It reminds us as church and the community at-large that we are called to always reach up and out beyond ourselves and to share the light of Christ in the darkness of this world.

All:  Visit us, O God, with your mercy and blessing as we dedicate all that has been accomplished in this place to your glory and honor.  May our newly renovated church, our new church steeple and our individual lives help express God’s love and care in a world so in need of the light of Christ.  May the renewal of our physical plant help us to renew our commitment to be the church in this place and in the world.

Let us pray:   Eternal God, by the power of your Holy Spirit, reconsecrate this church as a place of worship, mission and ministry.  Bless the work of our hands.  Bless and sanctify what we do here, that this place may be holy for us and a house of prayer for all people.  Amen.

Your support, help and gifts have made all

of renovations and repairs possible.

Thank you for sharing of yourselves and gifts.
