UNISON PRAYER OR CONFESSION

Patient God, we come again to admit that we have honored you with our lips while our hearts were far away.  We have taught doctrines from our own limited understanding and held fast to our human traditions as if they embodied your will.   We have hidden in our hearts attitudes that produce deceit and violation of our promises to you and to one another.  We ask for your forgiveness and the opportunity for new beginnings.  In Christ’s name, we pray.  Amen.
