God of unbounded love, w e are a people who long to be loving and who often fail.  Forgive us when our actions hurt ourselves and others.  Forgive us when we do not choose our word with care, lest they hurt our family, friends or neighbors.  Help us to go the second mile in loving and giving of ourselves.  Make us strong and wise in our love. Teach us what it means to love our enemies.  Hear us now as we pray for healing in our relationships.

Vacation Bible School Staff Dedication

Pastor: Adventure of the Treasure Seekers Vacation Bible School begins tomorrow. Many persons have made a commitment to provide leadership for this exciting program.  We want to recognize these persons this morning and to dedicate them for service.  Will they please come forward?

Psalm 12:6 says that the Lord is true to the promises in the Word.  These persons before you now are dedicating themselves to teaching our children about God’s promises and how special each of us is to God.  Will you seek to help the learners discover God’s promises?

Staff:    We will encourage the students to rejoice in the promises of God and to see themselves as special to our loving God.  We ask you to pray for us as we seek God’s help and to pray for all whose lives will be touched.  We ask you to help extend an invitation to others to join us at the Adventure of the Treasure Seekers.

Pastor: Will you, the congregation, support the work of these Vacation Bible School staff members, pray for God’s guidance in their work and be invitational to others?

Congregation: We will joyfully encourage them and will support them in whatever ways we are able as we seek to invite others.

Pastor: On behalf of the congregation, I wish to thank you for the vital role you are playing in the ministry to the children of our church and community.  We give thanks that God has given you such talent and the desire to share your gifts with others.  May God guide you in your teaching and learning, inspiring in you a richer understanding of God’s promises.  Let us pray:

All:      Gracious God, we thank you for these persons you have called to your service.  Help them be a blessing to all who take part in our Vacation Bible School program.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
