THE GATHERING TO WORSHIP

PRELUDE

BRINGING IN THE LIGHT OF CHRIST

WELCOME AND PARISH NOTES

       *CALL TO WORSHIP

One:    We come here today not because we are clever but because God welcomes those who are slow to learn.

All:       We come here not because we are wise,

but because God loves us in spite of our folly.

One:    We come knowing that the greatest people will be found

among those who humbly serve others like Jesus did, and that the brightest ideas and the deepest truth will come from those who see themselves as little children in Christ’s school.

All:       O Lord, open up our mind and our hearts and enable our

            lives to declare your praise.

Please use the space provided below to indicate your interest or ask questions. If you want to serve, but have a conflict with a current meeting day, let us know. Typically persons serve on committees for a term of three years, although shorter terms are available.  This gives consistency to a committee’s work, develops strong leadership, and allows for relationship building among members.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee works to provide ministries and opportunities that nurture congregational life. This might include: organizing fellowship meals or meeting the needs of homebound members through our tape and prayer ministry, or organizing a pictorial directory.  It also seeks to encourage members to faithful participation in the life of the church. If you feel called to help support the body of Christ, this committee can be an outlet for that calling.  NEEDS: Two to three persons to serve in three-year terms. Meets on the second Tuesday of the month.
