CLIP BOARD MINISTRY FOR SEPTEMBER

    *GATHERING WORDS

One:      We have come together, in this place, to worship God.

Come into God's gates with thanksgiving and into God's

courts with praise. We have much to give thanks and praise to God for. God has

been good. Let the redeemed of the Lord say:

Many:    Thank you God.  You have been good!

One:      God has delivered us from addictions, illness, financial problems, homelessness,

heartaches, oppression and so much more. We have much to thank and praise               God for. Let the redeemed of the Lord say:

Many:    Thank you God.  You are always good!

One:      We come this morning from the North, the South, the East and the West.  We, your               redeemed people of God say together:

Many:    God, you are good and we thank and praise you today.

”More Precious Than Silver”  Sing Twice

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Loving God, it is so easy to want our share, to get all we can. Sometimes in the getting and wanting, we lose sight of you, O God.  We think we need so much — that new car, a new outfit, a new stereo or the latest iPod.  In all this accumulation, we just have more things. Today, all around our neighborhoods, families go hungry.   More and more children go to bed hungry each night.  Help us, Lord, help us to see beyond ourselves and our wants.  Help us to look to the needs of others above our own; in the name of Jesus the Christ, we pray.  Amen.

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Brothers and sisters in Christ, God loves us not because of what belongs to us, but because we belong to God.  In this truth, Jesus offers us new life, ways that invite us to new living!  Know that we are forgiven by God’s love and are called to new living in God’s grace.

The School Supply Pantry will open its doors in on August 8.  Last year, our church provided school supplies for over 150 children (and even a few adults) in our county -- a significant increase over the previous year.  Although we seem to have a good supply of some of the necessary items, our shelves quickly become empty once we get started.  You can place your donations in the box in the church narthex.  We provide mostly new items, although books, dictionaries & working calculators can be used as long as they are current.  Monetary donations are also welcomed at any time.  We are especially in need of the following:  Backpacks (new), 3-Ring Binders, Colored Markers, Pencil Sharpeners (small size), Rulers, Drawing Paper, Construction Paper, Pocket Folders (We are very short on these), Pencil boxes or Pouches, Primary Pads of Paper (K-2), Dictionaries, Scientific Calculators, (Trigonometry Functions, etc.), Novels or Non-Fiction Books for Ages 3-17 (These can be used, but the titles should be fairly current.)  Call Barb Tatarchuk if you have any questions or if you would like to help.

Ethan Hinkston is attending “Life is a Highway” at Lake Louise Camp this week.  Please keep the campers & staff in your prayers.
