“Great is Thy Faithfulness” #140
UNISON PRAYER
Faithful God, you have lavished us
with love. Keep us ever mindful that you
keep your promises. On our difficult
days help us to remember that you are a refuge for those who need shelter, a
comfort for those who feel empty and poor in spirit. On our joyful days fill us
with a deep sense of thanksgiving as we experience your everlasting love. Help us to share your graciousness with all
those who need a touch of generous love. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, we
pray. Amen.

a shelter in a time of storm.

a very present help in trouble.
Left: Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea.
Right: Though its waters roar and foam.
Left: Though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
Sing
Chorus
Right: There is a river whose streams make glad the city
of God.
Left: God is in the midst of the city!
It shall not be moved.
Right: The nations are in an uproar, the kingdoms totter;
Left: God speaks and the earth melts.
All: The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Sing
Chorus
Right: Come, behold the works of the Lord;see what desolations God has
brought on the earth.
Left: God makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
Right: God breaks the bow, and shatters the spear;

Gracious God, even in times of
hardship we recognize that you have given us so much to be grateful for. We return this offering to you, knowing that
all we have is ours through grace alone.
Even when we have little to give, we possess everything in You. Help us to find
ways to be generous every day, following the lead of your open-handed love that
has withheld nothing from us, not even your only Son. Amen.
