Mercy Hospice Annual Candlelight Memorial Service, fellowship and dinner: A time of reflection and remembrance will be held here at United Methodist Church of Cadillac on Tuesday, May 22.  The memorial service is intended to celebrate and honor the lives of those who have impacted our lives so deeply.  Please RSVP to Bradley Center at 779-9550.  You may provide a picture of your loved one for a slide presentation to be shown during the service.  These pictures may be mailed to Mercy Hospice, 7985 Mackinaw Trail, Suite 100, Cadillac, MI 49601 or dropped off at their office by May 18 and will be returned at the memorial service.

Love In the Name of Christ invites you to a Celebrity Server Night at the Big Boy Restaurant on May 15 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m..  All of the tips from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and 10% of evening sales will benefit Love INC.  Our own Jackie Soltman will be the Pie Lady and Judy Coffey will be one of the Celebrity Servers.  Plan to come & support this worthwhile ministry in our area.

 

Join in the 9th Annual Dale Nathan Maxwell Great Strides Walk to Cure Cystic Fibrosis on May 19 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Rotary Pavilion.  Walk or sponsor a walker - donor forms are on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.

 

 

An all Church Yard Sale will be held on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26.  Items for the sale are needed; remember we cannot use items that are broken or soiled.  All items can be dropped off at the church beginning Sunday, May 20.  Please do not bring items before that time as we are unable to store them for lack of space.  Any item not sold at the Yard Sale will be donated to the Salvation Army.  Proceeds from the Yard Sale and Flower Sale will go to fund the Youth participation at UnityFest Christian Concert and a local mission event.  In addition, we need your help setting up and on the days of the Sale.  A sign-up sheet will be available in Fellowship Hall following both worship services.  See Shelley to sign up for your time to help.  Thanks so much!

 

The American Cancer Society will be hosting the Relay for Life fund-raiser at the Memorial Stadium in Cadillac on June 22 and 23. If you are a cancer survivor, you are cordially invited walk in the Special Survivor Laps and to attend the Survivor Receptions on both days. Registration forms which provide details about the event are located on the table in Fellowship Hall. Call Barb Tatarchuk (survivorship chairperson) for additional information or to have a form sent to you.

The Flowers on the Lord’s Table today are given in memory of Carl Peterson by Evelyn Peterson, Carolyn Shook and Diana VanAntwerp and in honor of Jennifer Logan and in memory of Dale Maxwell by Mom.

 

 

A Celebration of Ministry and Farewell Brunch will be held for Pastor Dale and his family on Sunday, June 17 during both worship services and at a Brunch immediately following the 10:00 worship service.  Mark your calendar now and make plans to attend.  A box is available in Fellowship Hall for your notes and photographs for Pastor Dale & his family.  See the insert & make your reservations

 

 

A new Prayer Group, under the leadership of Bedonna Davis, is meeting on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Anyone who wishes to join others in a time of concentrated prayer is invited to attend.  The group meets in the Wesley Room.

 

 

Summer Camp 2007— Registrations are still being received for Summer Church Camp.   Have questions or need registration forms, see or call Marian Fuller.

 

 

This past week, we distributed six fleece blankets to OASIS for children in need.  Eight more blankets are available for binding.  See Jean Stump today to obtain your blanket to bind.  This is an ongoing ministry of our church.  Thanks for your help!

 

 

You may also order luminaries for $10 each if you would like to honor someone who has battled cancer in the past or someone who is presently involved in the struggle.  The luminaries are placed around the track during the 24 hour event and not only remind us of loved ones who have had cancer, but also offer hope for the future.
