    *GATHERING WORDS

One:    Alleluia! Christ is risen!

Many:   He is risen indeed!

One:    But are you sure? Do you believe?

Many:   We don't want to be called "doubting Thomas,"

            but how can this be?

One:    Jesus said, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe."

All:       Alleluia! Christ is risen indeed!

PRAYER HYMN                                                                               #2196

            “We Walk By Faith”

UNISON PRAYER

Lord, you ministered to the doubts of Thomas.  Minister in worship to our doubts.  As doubts led Thomas to search for you, use our doubts to keep us as searchers for the Truth and the Way.  Help us to develop a sense of sight for the realm of faith, until with new insight we can affirm your reality end presence in the world.  Enable us to so ponder the ultimate questions of life and death that we will become aware of the unseen forces at work in us and in others.  But Lord, may there always be sufficient doubt in us to keep us seeking after faith.  Amen.
