UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of Grace, you are always more ready to forgive our shortcomings that we are to admit them.  You give us great promise for our living, and we laugh at you, thinking that we are no good.  You call us to difficult and inspiring missions, and we busy ourselves with other things that we decide are more important.  You challenge us to have courage, and we shrink back, locking ourselves into the safety of our homes.  Bring us new life, O God, so that the spirit of Christ may shine in us.  Amen.

We offer our deepest sympathies to Dan and Karen Zenner and family for their grandmother, Evelyn Riley, who passed away  Tuesday, August 21st.   Funeral services were held on Friday, August 24th.

Our Wednesday, September 5, we have an opportunity to join with other Christians across our greater community in praying for our schools.  Churches of the Cadillac Area Ministerial Association have taken a school to especially hold in prayer; we will be specifically praying for Cadillac High School.  We will gather near the front entrance of the school at 7:00 p.m. to share in prayer together.  Our prayers will be for a good school year for all the students and staff and for safety and protection for all.  It would be wonderful to have a couple of dozen persons come and pray together.  Since it is a choir night, we will plan to pray from 7:00 til 7:20 p.m. so that choir members can get to practice at 7:30.

November Bazaar Meeting: There will be a very brief meeting in the Wesley Room on Sunday, September 9 following the 8:30 a.m. worship service for all Bazaar room chairs and/or vice-chairs.  Please do your best to attend. Thanks!            Sally Bassett, Bazaar Chair
