*GATHERING WORDS

One: We are blind to many things.

All: Lord, cure our blindness.

One: The light of God shines for us today.

All: Lord, pour that light on us.

One: Come, worship God who forgives and heals your blindness.

All: Open our eyes, O Lord, that we might see opportunities

to serve you.

PRAYER HYMN .......................................................................................................#454

Open My Eyes, That I May See”

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of amazing grace,

forgive our blind spots

that keep us from seeing you and

from seeing others as you see them;

forgive our avoidance of your healing touch

and your revealing spirit.

Touch us with your healing hands of love.

Help us sing of your amazing grace,

knowing that we who once were blind

can now truly see.

Help us know your amazing grace,

trusting that we who once were lost

are now forever found by your love.

In the name of your gracious love, we pray. Amen.

WORDS OF PROMISE

Trust my friends that amazing grace is ours.

We may have been blind

But now we can see!

We may have been lost.

But in Christ we are found!

Open your eyes.

Christ is here.

God’s love is ours!

If you would like to have a Lenten Pocket Prayer Key Tag” which offers a reminder to pray and commit to the Lord during Lent and/or would like to join in having a “secret prayer partner,” you still have opportunity. For those who wish to participate, please place your name on the yellow prayer partner card, put it in the designated basket and then you will take one from the basket who will be your “partner” for Lent. A message board is set-up is so you can communicate with your prayer partner anonymously throughout Lent. The prayer partners will be revealed on Easter Sunday. Plan to share in this ministry of prayer as we listen, reflect and receive during Lent.

Love INC, together with the Durable Medical Goods Ministry, has a need for wheelchairs and shower transfer seats. We have had many, many requests in recent weeks and have had to turn people away. The items that are donated are given out on a “loan” basis, so when an item is no longer needed the recipient of such returns it so it can be loaned out again. Our closets are empty too often, so if you are able to help us with any of these kinds of items, please call the Love Inc office at 779-1888.

BLANKETS NEEDED: The 1st Christian Church located north of Cadillac on US 131, working together with Love INC, runs a Linen Closet for people in need. The closet has a need of blankets of any size. If you have any that you would be willing to donate, please drop them at the church between 9:00 a.m. and noon Tuesday through Thursday.

USED CARPETING APPRECIATED: Are you redoing a room and removing the carpeting? Love INC has an elderly woman who would appreciate some carpeting for a 12x13 bedroom or a 12x21 living room. If you have anything that you would like to donate, please contact Linda at the Love INC office at 779-1888. Love INC’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you call after hours, please leave a message and we’ll get back to you. Thanks!

Prayer Quilt Ministry stands ready to offer a Prayer Quilt to anyone who is in need of our prayers on their behalf. We will be tying a quilt this morning as we pray for our sister in Christ: Hazel Oyler who is at Lakeview Lutheran Manor. The quilt will be in Fellowship Hall - stop by, tie a knot or two as you offer a prayer for Hazel.

A reminder that Prayers & Squares is an outreach ministry that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt. The purpose of Prayers & Squares is not to make and distribute quilts, but to promote prayer through the use of quilts. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt; it's all about the prayers." Each quilt is for someone in special need of prayer. Come, offer your prayers.
