Spirit of the Living God”

UNISON PRAYER

Spirit of God,
we long to be open to your presence

in our church and in our lives.

Fill us with your wind and fire,
that we might be enlivened again.

Help us hear the words

as if for the first time,
that they might touch us anew.

Give us visions and dreams

of what you long for in your creation,

that we might begin to live them into reality.
Come, Spirit;

come into our worship,
into our church,
into our very selves. Amen.

Attention All Gardeners! It’s time to sign up to tend the Peace Garden. We will be starting the week of June 2 and go thru the middle of September. Please see Mary Buehler between services on May 18 or give her a call. For those of you unfamiliar with what is involved, we take a week at a time and one is responsible for weeding and deadheading that week. It is a wonderful way to donate your time.

Our old dishwasher is broken beyond repair and we are getting a new one. We are raising funds to pay for it and have gotten a good amount so far. For now we are using paper and plastic and it is costing us to provide them for our meals served here. If you would like to contribute to our new dishwasher, please mark the envelope with "dishwasher" so that it will get to the fund. Thank you.

Begin setting aside good useful items & clothing for the Church Rummage Sale. We can begin receiving your donations on Tuesday.

Today is the Pentecost Sunday and the Festival of the Christian Home. We will celebrate the birthday of the Church and the coming of the Holy Spirit. One writer shares: "The celebration of Pentecost beckons us to keep breathing. It challenges us to keep ourselves open to the Spirit who seeks us. The Spirit that, in the beginning, brooded over the chaos and brought forth creation; the Spirit that drenched the community with fire & breath on the day of Pentecost: this same Spirit desires to dwell within us and among us."

The Equal Exchange Coffee (decaf and regular) & Tea Sale will be held TODAY following both worship services.

The Blood Pressure Clinic will not be available today, but will be available next Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 a.m. in the library.
