WELCOME AND PARISH NOTES

*CALL TO CELEBRATION

One:.....Awesome, wondrous God,

deep and holy One,

we come to feel the mystery of your name.

All:.....Green growing God,

Christ of many stories and disciples,

we come to hear the parable of your love,

One:.....Bright, flashing God,

blowing wind and Holy Spirit,

we come to speak the gospel of your fire,

All:.....Distant yet intimate God,

woven, puzzled, grained by time,

we come to find the Trinity of your grace.

PRAYER OF ADORATION (in unison)
Awesome and majestic God, your creative power, your glory and holiness are beyond our imagining, yet you chose to pour your love into our hearts in a most personal way - by sharing our humanity in Jesus Christ. He revealed the human face of your love, and through his sacrificial love demonstrated the depth of divine love for us. You equip us for our journey through life and beyond, by breathing new and everlasting life into our very beings, through the gift of the Holy Spirit. God - Creator, Redeemer and renewing Power of our lives - we worship and adore you. Amen.

Attention All Gardeners! It’s time to sign up to tend the Peace Garden. We will be starting the week of June 2 and go thru the middle of September. Please see Mary Buehler between services on May 18 or give her a call. For those of you unfamiliar with what is involved, we take a week at a time and one is responsible for weeding and deadheading that week. It is a wonderful way to donate your time.

The Methodist Men will be meeting for their regular gathering on Thursday, May 22, at the church at 6:00 p.m.. Following our normal Outstanding Potluck Dinner, a brief business meeting and devotions, we will travel to the Cherry Grove Fire Hall for a program on fire fighting

Our old dishwasher is broken beyond repair and we are getting a new one. We are raising funds to pay for it and have gotten a good amount so far. For now we are using paper and plastic and it is costing us to provide them for our meals served here. If you would like to contribute to our new dishwasher, please mark the envelope with "dishwasher" so that it will get to the fund. Thank you.

Would your child benefit from some one-on-one help with school work at no charge? Zach Pant is volunteering his time to tutor. He will be available on Sunday, May 18, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the youth room. Just bring your child in and Zach will be glad to help!

Friendship Family Home, located in McBain, is a Christ-centered home for ladies with developmental disabilities. The FFH Board of Directors is currently updating the waiting list for the Home. If your family is in need of this type of care or may need such services in the future, you are invited to call the home at 825-2042 to discuss the mission of the home and possibly place your loved one on the waiting list.
