CHORAL ANTHEM ..................................................................................Chancel Choir

I Hear Thy Welcome Voice” Arr. Benjamin Harlan

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of living waters, we confess that we have often turned from you and wandered in our own wildernesses of fear and doubt. Our thirst mounts daily, seeking to be quenched by your redeeming love. Yet, when that love is offered to us, we again turn away, unable to truly believe that you would actually heal and love us. We have behaved in very unloving ways. We have chosen to ignore those in need or to deal only passively with them. Heal us, merciful God. Wash us again in the living water. Help us be faithful servants. Amen.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

The waters of mercy and healing are poured over you. God is loving and faithful to those who come to God. Come, seek the loving presence and be healed. Amen.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,

that were a present far too small;

love so amazing, so divine

demands my soul, my life, my all. Amen.

*PRAYER OF GIVING THANKS (in unison)

God of abundance,

your gifts gush over us

in a stream of love.

We who have drunk deeply of your living water

offer our gifts to you.

Take our lives, O Lord.

Empower us to step into the river

and flow through the world,

offering the gift of your love

to others who thirst still.

We pray and serve in the name of Christ. Amen.

As part of our journey in this season of Lent, we are offering two opportunities. First, we have a Lenten Pocket Prayer Key Tag” for you which offers a reminder to pray and commit to the Lord during Lent and second, we are inviting you to join with others in having a “secret prayer partner.” For those who wish to participate, please place their name on the yellow prayer partner a card, put it in a basket and then you will take one from the basket who will be your “partner” for Lent. If you previously placed a card in the basket and did not pick one out, please do so this morning. A message board is set-up is so you can communicate with your prayer partner anonymously throughout Lent. The prayer partners will be revealed on Easter Sunday. Plan to share in this ministry of prayer as we listen, reflect and receive during Lent.
